And so it ends...
Sadly, I've just read this article about the demise of Ion, the company that bought BTR Engineering shortly after I left to study. That was where I worked in Sydney doing Automatic Transmission design and Team Leader for the design engineers working on the Ford Falcon.
It was certainly the end of an era when I left what was my first job.
Subsequently, Ion bought them out and started plans to move all the engineers and support staff to Melbourne to be closer to their major customers. A good idea except that they lost all their experienced people in one fell swoop! Fools!
Now looks like it's all over and the company where I and many of my friends started their engineering careers is gone...
