It's a boy!
On Wednesday the 31st of January, 2007, Archie Cameron Dak-Jee Wong was born at 5pm. Weighing in at 3.45kg (7lb9oz) and 51cm long, he was a little bigger than his older brother Max. The birth went extremely well and Deanna delivered Archie without the use of any pain relief (besides squeezing my arm!).
He is a wonderful little guy and very interested in what is going on around him. He's a good sleeper so far which has made the transition a lot easier so far.
Max loves his little brother and can't wait to be able to drag him around the park! He loves to cuddle and kiss him as much as possible.
Thanks, to everyone who visited us in hospital, at home and sent us their well wishes.
Here are some photos from his first week.

Lisa and JuanJo's Wedding
Yes, it's finally happened! My little sister was married on Saturday the 17th of December in a beautiful "Love Marriage" (as JuanJo calls it) at Mum & Dad's place in Fig Tree Pocket. She has married a fantastic fellow, Juan Jose whom she met in Menorca (an Island in Spain). He is actually from Barcelona and currently lives on his boat there!
They met through David, who works for Mascaro, one of Lisa's first shoe suppliers in Spain. David was taking Lisa back to the airport and thought he'd do a bit of match-making by taking Lisa to JuanJo's restaurant. Well, within a few hours JuanJo had fallen head over heels for her before she was whisked away to return to Australia.
So, after much planning they had the legal wedding at the Registry Office in Brisbane on Friday the 16th. This then set the scene for the "Love Marriage" on Saturday night.
It was a fantastic night, once Lisa actually arrived only 50minutes late! I think JuanJo was nervous but everyone else was just enjoying themselves with Chinese goodies and plenty of drinks. The Ceremony was held amongst the Liquid Amber trees and was beautiful, intimate and warm yet fun.
Dinner was about 8 courses interspersed with the odd toast and plenty of animated discussion amongst the tables. We finally finished dinner at midnight and moved on to the dance floor to the relief of the DJ who had been playing music to himself for about 4 hours!
We danced on until about 3am when it was time to drop Lisa and JuanJo to their hotel and head home for a few hours sleep before Max was up and ready for action.
Several of JuanJo's friends from Menorca, David, Karsten & Suzanna, were staying at Lisa's house so we spent a lot of time with them over the last couple of days. It was wonderful to get to meet a few people in JuanJo's life and spend time with him also.
They plan to have a party in Menorca late next year so I'm looking forward to meeting his family, catching up with his friends and seeing them in their Spanish environment :-)
Now I'm trying to slow down again after all that dancing...the legs aren't what they used to be...

Happy 1st Birthday Max
Today, Max turned 1 year old and what an amazing voyage of discovery it has been. It seems so much longer than a year to me, yet it seems like he has learned new skills so quickly. It seems like only a few days ago that I could carry him in one arm for hours while I pottered around the house. Now he's walking around on his own explorations, rearranging the house!
We had a party for him yesterday, at home. We setup a playground and let all the kids run wild. It was awesome! Our families did a beautiful job with lots of yummy food and helping setup and clean up too. Thanks :-) Dee made him a wonderful cake and he enjoyed wearing his party hat around.
Today he made a royal visit to Paradise and spread his sunshine around there to the delight of all. We then had lunch with his Yeh-yeh (Grandfather) while Max pulled the folders off the shelves and everything else out of the cupboards!
He had a busy afternoon with visits from Nanny, Grandma and Grandad.
When I got home we had a little birthday cup cake after his dinner and then he was off to bed, older and wiser!

Joshua Kerr
A big congratulations to David and Denise who had a baby boy, Joshua on the 13th of July.
Welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood :-)
David says it was a wonderful experience (although painful) and I know just what he means! It was truly the most amazing day of my life too!
Dee, Max and I wish them all the best in the coming months and years and are really looking forward to meeting the little guy.
P.S. I hope you've got him green nappies!

Congratulations Brad & Simone
It seems that practice makes perfect as Brad and Simone have just had a little boy, Hayden, after a speedy 2.5hr labour!
He was born at 7:53pm and weighed in at 7lb 8oz.
Everyone is doing well up at the Mater and we look forward to meeting the little guy :-)
Who would have thought that Max would have a younger cousin so soon?!

He speaks!
Max said "Mum" this morning :-)
What a morning! Dee tells me hi did it yesterday but he has been mumbling something like that for quite some time so I didn't quite believe her!
However, there was no doubting it, he clearly said "Mum" quite a few times this morning. What a star :-) I even managed to get it on video after quite a few minutes of him trying to grab the video off me.
The funny thing is that everyone at work that I have told has said, "Gee, they usually say Dad first"!
Now I know that Dee spends the whole day saying "Mum Mum Mum Mum...".
